REAP
Resonance in Equine Arts Presencing
by Rilana Vorderwülbecke
Resonance in Equine Arts Presencing - REAP is a trauma-sensitive coaching and support method for teams and individuals that finds its core in the creative interplay of horses, artistic expression (expressive arts) and embodied presence.
The focus is on the present moment, the living space in which inner processes become visible, tangible and expressible. Horses as sensitive resonance beings, art-based interventions and a safely held experiential space enable deep encounters, self-regulation and co-creation.
This method combines:
Somatic presence and body awareness
Non-verbal resonance processes with the horse
Artistic design as embodied expression
Team dynamics in the space of mindfulness
Trauma-sensitive approach with a focus on safety, freedom of choice and relationships
Resonance in Equine Arts Pesencing works where words reach their limits and opens up creative spaces for authenticity, connectedness and collective awareness.
Wakan Tanka, Great Mystery
Teach me how to trust
My heart, my mind, my intuition,
My inner knowing
The senses of my body
The blessings of my spirit
Teach me to trust these things
So that I may enter my Sacred Space
And love beyond my fear,
And thus Walk in Balance
With the passing of each glorious sun.
- Prayer from the Lakota people
What are Expressive Arts?
Expressive Arts combine five creative forms of expression: Drama, dance, music, poetry, and visual arts. They invite you to express yourself freely and beyond conventional methods. The challenge of finding new creative paths encourages you to change the way you look at your living space and engage with unfamiliar perspectives.
The focus is on the "low-skill - high-sensitivity" strategy: less emphasis is placed on technique and more on openness and subtle perception. This creates new opportunities to discover yourself without fixating on problems. Your imagination opens doors that go far beyond what you know.
Expressive Arts support you in connecting with yourself and your world playfully. Every experience in this creative process contributes to your personal growth.

Expressive Arts Therapy, as a formal modality, emerged in the early 1970s, primarily through the work of Shaun McNiff, Paolo Knill, and others at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The subtle vibration of closeness between human and horse creates connection, trust and healing.
In the encounter with horses, embedded in the wisdom of nature, a silent space opens up. A space in which you can feel yourself again, beyond words, supported by mindfulness and resonance. Here begins a quiet remembrance of your own truth, of your roots and of what is whole and whole within you.
The healing power of the connection between humans and horses in the midst of nature can reduce stress, promote inner balance and support the development of new behavioral patterns, ways of thinking and neural pathways. This special relationship inspires compassion, motivation, personal growth and a deep connection with oneself and others. It opens access to inner truths and gives the feeling of being loved, supported and nourished by oneself, by others and by the world around us.
